CO-OWNERSHIP

We have two co-owning opportunities coming up.

1) A female puppy of our current litter, she will be 8 weeks old when you get her and you will raise her. Please read the conditions and what it means to be a co-owner below.

2) Our beloved young male dog Wolf, who will be a stud dog for Pandora Shepherds once all his health testing is complete. Wolf is already well socialised, knows all basic commands and is a fun, active, friendly and very loving dog. He will be suitable for someone who wants a young adult rather than a pup, has an active lifestyle and is able to handle and take the responsibility of an entire(not-neutered) male dog.

You can read more about his temperament and see pictures here.

Wolfie

By becoming a co-owner, you become part of the Pandora Shepherds clan and help to establish this wonderful breed in New Zealand.

Through our years of experience, we have found co-ownership the most ethical way of breeding as it gives the dogs the best life possible. Rather than us having all the dogs, co-ownership means they live with families where they get one-on-one attention and the time he/she needs and deserves.

Responsible breeding is built on the foundation ethical animal welfare, so having happy and healthy breeding dogs is one of our main priorities.

Most co-owner homes have become great friends and we stay in close contact, establishing a good relationship to make everyone involved happy (people and dogs).

Being a co-owner means:

  • The dog is living at your place full time and you are the primary owner

  • The dog is our pick of the litter (the puppy we believe meets the breed standard best)

  • The cost of the dog is only $1000

  • We will pay for the health testing required for breeding and organize a vet visit (1 day, around 15 months of age)

  • We will pay for any costs related to breeding

  • We choose the gender, as per what sex we need for our breeding program.

  • The mating, whelping and puppies will be at our place (roughly 8 weeks in a year, perfect to plan your holidays without worrying about your dog)

  • There will be a reimbursement given to the foster homes after a litter, enough to feed the dog and pay normal vet costs for a year

The requirements are:

  • You are located in Auckland or Waikato area and don't plan to move.

  • You have experience with big dogs.

  • You are working from home or only part-time.

  • You will commit to training your dog, so it will become a well behaved, well socialised dog that is a role model of our desired breed standard.

  • You own your house.

  • You do not own another dog under 18 months.

  • You are an effective communicator.

Please contact us for more information.
